David Williams, Managing GP

David is the Managing GP of 2020 Ventures Management, LP, the manager of Knickerbocker Capital, LP, an open-ended fund investing in decentralized web companies and digital assets. David is an accomplished investor and executive with over 30 years experience investing in and building internet and software companies in the US and China. He formed 2020 Ventures LLC with personal funds in 2010. Success with private investments in LinkedIn, Facebook and Spotify led to formation of 2020 Ventures, LP, in 2014. In 2018, the fund shifted focus from Web 2 to Web 3 investments and in 2020 became Knickerbocker Capital, LP. David and his family lived in Beijing, China, from 2002 to 2008, where he worked in the non-profit sector and invested in private companies. David formed and operated GoodWork International Inc. to assist organizations seeking to alleviate poverty in China through entrepreneurship. From 1992 to 2002, David held leadership roles in software and internet companies including Micrografx Inc. and Excite.com. David began his career in 1987 as a financial analyst in the Equity Capital Markets group at Kidder, Peabody & Co. in New York. After Kidder, he worked as an Associate at British merchant bank Charterhouse. He earned a B.S. in Economics from Southern Methodist University and an M.B.A. from Harvard University. 

Thomas Rebar, GP

Tom is GP of 2020 Ventures Management, LP. He is also a Partner at SCP Partners, having been with the firm since its inception in 1996.  SCP has managed in excess of $1 billion on behalf of institutional investors focusing primarily on venture capital investing. Tom has over 30 years experience in venture capital, private equity, investment banking, mergers and acquisitions, and leveraged buyout financing.  Previously, Tom was a Senior Vice President at Charterhouse Inc., the U.S. investment banking arm of Charterhouse PLC, a leading U.K. merchant bank.  Tom began his career as a member of the corporate finance department at Bankers Trust Company in New York City. Tom received his B.S. summa cum laude from the University of Scranton and his M.B.A. from New York University Graduate School of Business Administration. Tom has been a director of numerous companies both public and private. He is also a trustee of two elementary/middle charter schools in Philadelphia and Trenton, NJ.
